Is it safe to remove when I move house?
Yes. ClearTap is designed to unscrew cleanly from your tap without any permanent modification, so there is no drilling and nothing left behind. That makes it a good fit for renters who cannot plumb in an under-sink system and do not want to risk a bond deduction. You simply unscrew it, pack it and refit it at your next place.
How often do I need to change the cartridge?
The cartridge is specified to last up to six months of daily use, depending on how much water your household runs through it. When you notice the taste or flow starting to change, that is your cue to swap it. Keeping fresh media in the unit is what keeps the chlorine, rust and sediment out of your glass.
Will I really notice a difference in the taste?
Most people notice the chlorine smell and taste ease off straight away, which is why kids who gagged on the tap water start finishing their glass. If you want proof you can see, use the Water Purity Pen to check a reading before and after, so you are watching the change rather than taking it on faith.
Can I use it with hot water?
ClearTap is made for filtering cold tap water for drinking, cooking and filling bottles. Running hot water through this class of filter is not recommended, as heat can affect the carbon media. Use it on the cold side for drinking water and let the kettle handle anything you need boiling.
What is in the box?
You receive one stainless steel gooseneck tap filter faucet in a brushed silver finish, along with the rubber washers and the plastic connector accessory used to fit it to your tap. That is everything needed to attach the unit to a standard threaded tap spout so you can start filtering the water you already have.
