Is it hard to fit, or do I need a plumber?

No plumber and no tools. ClearTap screws onto a standard threaded tap spout using the supplied rubber washers and plastic connector. You unscrew the aerator, attach the filter housing, and you are pouring cleaner water in a few minutes. If you rent, that is the point: you can take it off cleanly when you move, put the aerator back, and leave the tap exactly as it was. You take your clean water with you.

Will it fit my kitchen tap?

It fits standard round tap spouts with a removable aerator, which covers most Australian kitchen taps, and the included washers and connector cover the most common sizes. It is not suitable for square spouts, pull-out or hose-style taps that detach, or taps with no removable aerator. Check your spout shape against the listing before you buy. If your tap has a very unusual fitting, get in touch and we will help you work out whether it will suit.

Where can I use the filtered water?

Anywhere you use your kitchen tap. Fill drink bottles for the school run, make coffee, cook with it, prepare baby formula, and pour cold glasses straight from the tap without a jug. It is designed for cold tap water for drinking and cooking, so avoid running hot water through it, which can shorten cartridge life and affect the taste.

How do I look after the filter housing?

Care is straightforward and quick to keep on top of. Wipe the brushed stainless housing down as needed and replace the internal cartridge on schedule for your water use. Run cold water through it for drinking and cooking, and avoid hot water. Keeping a spare cartridge stored means you can rotate a fresh one in the moment performance drops, so you always have clean water on tap.

Is ClearTap suitable for renters?

Yes, that is who we built it for. The filter mounts onto your existing tap with the included washers and connector, so you can fit it without a plumber and without touching the fitting you have to hand back. When you move, unscrew it, put the aerator back, and the tap is exactly as it was. No damage, no bond risk, and you take your clean water with you to the next place.

What will I notice once the Pure Tap Filter is on?

Most people notice the chlorine smell and taste are gone straight away, so a glass poured from the tap tastes clean. Over the following weeks you will see less of that white crusty build-up around the kettle and less sediment in your water. The scale that leaves a ring on kettles and shower heads comes from the same minerals, so you will scrub far less and it returns much slower.

Will filtered water actually get the kids drinking more?

Once the chlorine taste and smell are gone, most kids stop complaining and start finishing their bottles at dinner. Plain filtered water that tastes clean does most of the work, with no cordial and no bribing required. Plenty of parents tell us the half-drunk bottles left around the house finally stopped after switching. You get the same result at a playdate too, filling glasses straight from the tap with no bottled water and no second-guessing.

What does the Water Purity Pen do?

The Water Purity Pen is a TDS tester that lets you see the difference for yourself instead of taking our word for it. Dip the metal tip into a glass of untreated tap water and note the reading, then test a glass of ClearTap water and watch the number drop. It sits on the tap you already use and filters as you pour, so there is nothing to refill and nothing to remember. The battery is included, so you can dip and read straight out of the box.

Does a low reading on the pen mean my water is completely safe?

A TDS pen tells you how much dissolved solid material is in your water, and a lower number after filtering shows the filter is doing its job on that content. It does not test for every possible contaminant, so treat it as a clear before-and-after comparison tool rather than a full safety certificate. What it is genuinely good at is showing you, in seconds and in your own kitchen, that the filtered water carries far less dissolved material than the untreated tap.

Why choose filtered tap water over bottled?

Filtering at the tap means clean-tasting water straight from your own kitchen, with no slabs to carry up the driveway and no recycling bin overflowing every fortnight. You fill glasses, the kettle and cooking water directly, and do the same at a playdate without second-guessing. It is a quiet win off the mental list, and once it is fitted it just works in the background, so you can stop thinking about your water altogether.

What is the difference between a tap filter and a big jug filter?

A jug filters a batch, sits in the fridge taking up half a shelf, and only works if you remember to refill it. ClearTap filters at the point of use, so the water is clean the instant you open the tap, with nothing to top up and nothing taking up fridge space. You fill glasses, the kettle and cooking water straight from the sink, and it keeps doing its job quietly in the background.

Which option is right for my household?

A single Pure Tap Filter suits one busy tap, usually the kitchen. The Filter & Test Bundle adds the Water Purity Pen so you can see the reading for yourself. The Always Clean Bundle adds a set of replacement filters so you keep clean water flowing without a reorder. The Full Clean Water Bundle has all three: the filter, the pen and the replacement filters.

Is it cheaper to buy a bundle than the items separately?

Yes, that is the point of the bundles. The Full Clean Water Bundle (filter, Water Purity Pen and replacement filters) is $264.90, which saves you $66.80 compared with buying the three on their own ($331.70). The Always Clean Bundle saves $41.90 and the Filter & Test Bundle saves $9.90. Every bundle ships free and you get everything set up in one go.

Who is the Full Clean Water Bundle best for?

It suits anyone who wants the whole setup in one box: the filter cleans the water, the pen shows you the reading, and the replacement filters keep it going when the first cartridge wears out. It screws onto a standard Australian tap in minutes and unscrews cleanly when you move, so there is no damage and no bond risk.

What if it does not work for us?

You are covered by our 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Fit the filter, taste the water, and see if the kids finish their glasses and the kettle stops crusting up. Use the Water Purity Pen to check the numbers if you like. If you are not happy for any reason, contact us within 30 days for a full refund, no fuss. We would rather you tried it in your own kitchen with your own tap than took a leap on our say-so.
