Can I just buy one filter now and add the rest later?
You can, but buying the complete set together is the better call. Both tap filters share the same point-of-use activated carbon design, so the water tastes consistent from every tap rather than clean at one and off at another. Will these filters fit my taps, and do I need a plumber?
The filters screw straight onto a standard threaded tap spout using the supplied rubber washers and plastic connector, so there are no tools and no plumber. They suit standard Australian kitchen taps. They will not fit square-shaped spouts, pull-out or hose-style taps that detach, or taps with no removable aerator. When you move out, each filter unscrews cleanly with no damage to the tap and no risk to your bond, which is why they suit renters.
How do I look after the different pieces?
The stainless steel filter bodies wipe clean and are built to last, unlike flimsy plastic clip-ons. Each cartridge lasts up to six months of daily use, then you swap in a fresh one from the multi-pack, which takes seconds. Follow the care guidance included and avoid using the filters with hot water. Give the water tester pen a quick wipe and store it dry between checks.
